archaic web practices lesson learned
Ticketma$ter SUCKS. Besides all the normal ranting about them being a horrible money-grubbing to begin with, dumb thing is usually they're the best/easiest way to get tickets. However, they're still in the [internet] dark ages when it comes to accessible seating. To get *those* tickets, you fill out a form, which generates a ticket [AND a superfluous 'we have your request' email] that an actual person needs to respond to by sorting through what's available, and sending back a ticket proposal. THEN, in order for me to BUY said tickets, it's ANOTHER email- which has to contain my credit card info. Lots of jumping through hoops.. but the problem comes when you want to attend an event with a definite sellout risk. In the time it takes to recieve your confirmation email, everything's gone. Which takes us to this morning:
Now *that's* a swerve I wasn't prepared for. Gave the number a ring- sold out. C'mon, people.. it's not like it's still the beginnings of the World Wide Web here- how hard would it be to make one more step and have a specialized seating database? They're TicketMASTER.. but they directed me to the box office? And yes, I'm realizing [now] that going to the box office # would be easier, but the internet is all about convenience.. I'd just like to point out to them that in a business sense, that's lost revenue. But hey, I guess box office #'s it is from now on- and one more reason to not have to deal with those ticketbastards.
