Yeah, this month sucks.
Not even gonna go back to Mother's birthday and the toxic mutant flowers that almost killed me. Lets just have a short recap of the last 2 days.
Yesterday, work was just drudgingly long. Despite the really nice weather I was politely asked to do some menial labor "because the students were running out of time." so i got saddled with it. whee. The rest of the day went fairly quickly; even got to help out a student making a floorplan of a 2 story house out of Lego's because his team was a) absent, b) truant, or c) in in-school suspension (actually with those guys gone the class was pretty tolerable). After work, I took an alternate route to get comics and ended up in bumper to bumper traffic. Frustrated, I whipped out a map and looked for an alternate route when- >scrape< I rear-ended the car in front of me in a low speed collision. We're not exchanging insurance crap because of the minimal damage; we even had a little laugh about it. That freaked me out a little; I'm paying for his damages (only $150, but im glad cuz it couldve been worse) and i needed to fix my license plate. I felt so dumb because I was out on this road to get COMICS.
After comics, I went to Best Buy and got the new 4400 Season 2 DVD set (new season starts June 11!!). On the way out, I was drawn into the Guitar Hero display and rocked out- getting 97% on expert hurts. Sauntering on my way out I heard the voice of one of my students saying hi. So I pretty much showed him that not only am I a Sci-Fi nerd, but I play video games at a pretty high level (read- Uber-nerd). Still trying to decide if thats a good cred-booster at work with the kids. probably not.
so: work sucks, car collision, nerd-out. But I got my contour foam w/ pillows for my bed so im sleeping better.
