OVER MY HEAD

words fail me :) all access backstage passes and front row balcony seats for the Fray's last concert of a 3 day run @HoB [longest # of b2b shows on this tour] before the band takes a month off; courtesy of my bro-in-law's brother, their tour manager. just WOW. i didn't even know as of friday afternoon and maybe 24hrs later i'm backstage after the show getting drinks out of their fridge and chatting up the soon-to-be-married-in-4-days guitarist. surreal.. i'm still absorbing it all

FN AWESOME.

[gar met more of the band than i, hmph ;) ]

oh yeah- dinner beforehand at sushisamba downtown too ;) bonus! so much fun! wowowow -j

*edit-gary* pic is from the balcony we were sitting. I met the 3 guys from the right side; really nice guys. J pretty much got it all. I was singing along for a while until I noticed that so were about 90% of the pre-pubescent/teenage girls/girls who wish they were still teenagers. Sorry ladies, 4/5ths are married (or soon to be) and the 5th has a gf.

*edit2-j* oh yeah- evidently there were some high-profile Cubs in the 4th floor club/bar, The Foundation Room. [Mark Prior, Greg Maddux? 1 or 2 others maybe] i think they met the band before we made our way backstage, but i didn't spot 'em. it *was* fun to watch security stop some club girls from wandering into the backstage area as we were making our way in/out. they called us part of the band ;)

[pic caption: l to r: joe, jimmy, isaac, ben, soon-to-be-married david.. they had so much fun onstage, the energy all night was AMAZING]

Okay kids, get the hell outta here and enjoy your summer

...and at 11:30 this morning my students completed their exploration into the wonderful world of the American system of government. Thankfully I didn't have to fail anyone, though there were two students struggling to get make up work turned in in order to creep up from a 79% to 80%. I hate giving out extra credit, especially when they have 5-7 missing assignments. My policy is that EC is only available when all missing assignments are turned in; why give extra work when they haven't done the actual work assigned for the class? Anyways, the kiddies got to watch Glory Road for the second half of school since we werent doing anything, nor could I let them out early. I'll be repeating the class for the month of July, thankfully the class size is being cut down from 36 to 16. MUCH more manageable.
Now if I could get hired for the fall. I suck.
